About Us

“Our mission is to be an

effective volunteer organization

that supports the vision and goals

of Reynolds-Alberta Museum.”

The Friends of Reynolds-Alberta Museum Society (FRAM) has supported the public, educational and financial operations of the Reynolds-Alberta Museum since 1988. We are a registered charity led by a volunteer Board of Directors elected annually from our over 600 members.

There are a variety of ways we aim to help the Museum achieve its goals:

We promote awareness of and support for the museum in the public eye through participating in community events, supporting the museum’s Volunteer Training Program, publication of the RAMbler - a quarterly newsletter, making presentations about the museum to various groups and establishing and maintaining this website. We encourage visitation to the museum by hosting and co-hosting annual events, including History Road, Harvest Festival,  the annual Dinner Theatre, Wetaskiwin Snow Drags and Exhibitions.

Our support of the museum’s volunteer program allows members of the community to become actively involved in the operation of the museum. We enhance the visitor experience at the museum through fund-raising for special projects, including construction of the children’s playground, artifact restoration and conservation, and exhibit development. We provide visitor services through the operation of the Blacktop Diner. Revenues from these services are used to support programs and projects such as the Ride Program and the Winton Restoration Project. Other sources of revenue include membership fees, fundraising events, sponsorships, donations and grants. Support the Friends of Reynolds-Alberta Museum Society as a member or donor and take part in the pride of Canada's leading museum of mechanization.
